There may be a possibility that a rare flock of feral sheep found on Arapawa Island in the Marlborough Sounds could have come from Spanish galleons landing in the 1500s, though the mystery of how they arrived in Marlborough may never be unlocked. I have spun, dyed and woven their fleeces and now I am painting them. It's been a wonderful journey.
